The We're All Moved-In Tour

The upstairs smaller bedroom is now an office. I plan to get a chair for the corner near the spinning wheel so that I can read while Seth is using his computer.

I like where Lily's window seat is - it's right next to where I sit. I can reach over and pet her when she's sitting next to me (as she is right now!).

The bathroom has our new curtain and mat.

Our bedroom. Lily usually sleeps in the disk chair during the night. In the apartment, the disk was against the foot of the bed. I guess that she doesn't like that we moved it because since we've come to Amherst, she's been sleeping on the bed with Seth and me like she did as a kitten. Of course, when she was a kitten she weighted about 5 pounds instead of around 15. Needless to say, she is very heavy on my legs.

Here is the kitchen. The new range and dishwasher seem great.

Seth's dad helped us hang the new shade.

The living room/dining room is coming together. We have some heavy curtains - I think they said they were thermal curtains - which keep the room warm at night.

The couch is going to have a slip cover. This is the slipcover we're getting. It will match the blue carpet and blue curtains perfectly!

It's snowing again. Here is the patio, completely covered with snow.

Exciting! The washer and dryer came today. Here they are. I can't wait to use them but I have to wait a couple of hours because there might be some water frozen in the hose during the winter move in.

Lily is now settled in pretty well. The day of the move was the worst day in her life since she started living with us. When we got to Amherst (how we got here is a very ugly tale that I don't want to repeat), Lily hid in the closet for about eight hours. She only came out when we went to bed to sleep on top of us. The first morning she explored the upstairs but was afraid to go down the stairs. In the apartment, the only stairs were in the hallway and off limits. When we finally go her downstairs, she was afraid of the big patio door, I think because she thought it actually was the outside. As of today though, she is doing well and is once again on track to being the mistress of her domain. I am very, very pleased at how brave our baby girl has been and how well she's now settling in.

Thank to everyone for the help with the move!

Holiday and the Fuzzy Kitty and Spinning

I've been too busy to post. We're closing on the condo on Monday and that, along with work, has taken all my focus and energy. I'll post pictures of the condo on Monday - better ones than I took on the tour.

In my free time, I have been spinning. I spun up the Baby Cakes for this month's club. Here are some random pictures of them.

I also spun up the Rain Puddles 'n Rubber Duckies roving I had - colonial/merino.

I am now working on some merino I had - a colorway called Springtime. I am trying to not feel bleak because of the winter setting in.

Finally, Seth got me this roving. It's called Brain Pop and is very, very exciting!

Although we are closing on the 22nd and moving on the 28th, Seth decorated the apartment for the holiday season. I am glad he did - it looks great.

Of course, our lovely fuzzy kitty got into everything!

I hope she has as much fun exploring the new place next week.
